Twenty-five young people from across South Wales were treated to an exclusive DJ master-class on 3rd June, organised and hosted by Escape Into The Park.

Those attending the session came from ‘Young and Gifted’ and ‘Young Vibes’ (the local DJ groups in Pontarddulais) plus young people who access services via the Swansea Youth Offending Service.

They were given a DJ tutorial by international professional DJs, with an introduction to DJ equipment and basic skills in beat matching. The event was supported by the Swansea Youth Offending Service, the Youth Service and the Andrew Kent Music Academy.

The Fab Five

The Fab Five youth action group:

The group meet at North Penlan Community Centre.
The young people have used funding from Youth Bank and SYAN to renovate a community space for young people.
With the help of a local artist, the young people created art work to brighten up their centre. This work is supported by Communities First and Swansea Youth Service.
