Twenty-five young people from across South Wales were treated to an exclusive DJ master-class on 3rd June, organised and hosted by Escape Into The Park.

Those attending the session came from ‘Young and Gifted’ and ‘Young Vibes’ (the local DJ groups in Pontarddulais) plus young people who access services via the Swansea Youth Offending Service.

They were given a DJ tutorial by international professional DJs, with an introduction to DJ equipment and basic skills in beat matching. The event was supported by the Swansea Youth Offending Service, the Youth Service and the Andrew Kent Music Academy.

Eastside Sounds

The Eastside Sounds youth action group:

The young people meet at Stadwen Youth Centre on a weekly basis.
They take part in live music workshops and plan youth-led community events.
Eastside Sounds have raised hundreds of pounds for charities like the Mr X Appeal and OXJAM. www.oxjam.org.uk. “Make Music. Raise Money.End Poverty!”
