Twenty-five young people from across South Wales were treated to an exclusive DJ master-class on 3rd June, organised and hosted by Escape Into The Park.

Those attending the session came from ‘Young and Gifted’ and ‘Young Vibes’ (the local DJ groups in Pontarddulais) plus young people who access services via the Swansea Youth Offending Service.

They were given a DJ tutorial by international professional DJs, with an introduction to DJ equipment and basic skills in beat matching. The event was supported by the Swansea Youth Offending Service, the Youth Service and the Andrew Kent Music Academy.

Lockdown Street Dance Academy:

The young people meet at Gendros Community Centre on a weekly basis.
As a team, with support from a professional choreographer, they devise and rehears original dance performances.
The group have planned and delivered several intergenerational community events and have raised hundreds of pounds for local charities.
