Twenty-five young people from across South Wales were treated to an exclusive DJ master-class on 3rd June, organised and hosted by Escape Into The Park.

Those attending the session came from ‘Young and Gifted’ and ‘Young Vibes’ (the local DJ groups in Pontarddulais) plus young people who access services via the Swansea Youth Offending Service.

They were given a DJ tutorial by international professional DJs, with an introduction to DJ equipment and basic skills in beat matching. The event was supported by the Swansea Youth Offending Service, the Youth Service and the Andrew Kent Music Academy.

HYPE stands for Helping Young People by Peer Education.
Year 10 Pupils from Ysgol Gyfun Gwyr and Olchfa School work with South Wales Police to design and deliver Peer Education on the subject of substance misuse.
The group meet in an out of school residential setting to design the youth-led workshops.
Then they return to School and lead workshops on Tobacco, Alcohol and Substances for the Year 9 pupils.
